So when is it? March 31st of this year? Or was that last year? That's pretty cool.

I missed it this year but I did switch from plastic bags to the new tote bags sold at the stores and I really like them. Somehow we have to get control of all the plastic that is used and discarded. What really disturbs me is I heard about a floating island of discarded plastic the size of the United States in the Atlantic(?) ocean. What a sad comment on being stewards of this beautiful earth.

This year I gave up my proclivity to control everything and gave my power to the power company by letting them install a device that will control my heating and air conditioning during peak hours and days when energy supply is low. And then I decided, why wait for them to make the first move. I've dropped my house temp. to 18 degrees (c) and started wearing socks inside my comfy slippers, and a sweater. It's not much but it's something, right?
